1. Who the agreement is with
The AutoVouch service provider is identified in the business information above and in your written quotation. Do not treat a marketplace seller as the inspection provider. These terms apply to separately agreed inspection services in South Africa, together with the accepted quote and mandatory law.
2. Request, quotation and acceptance
A website request is an enquiry, not a confirmed appointment or payment commitment. Before acceptance we confirm the vehicle, package, accessible checks, location, travel, full price including any applicable tax and compulsory charges, appointment arrangements, report delivery and any special instructions in writing. You can review and correct details before accepting. Work starts only after a clear agreement.
No online vehicle payment is taken. Inspection payment arrangements and due dates must be stated in the accepted quotation. Extra work or charges require agreement first.
3. The inspection scope
Essential Check is a visual condition visit with photos and a concise summary. It excludes diagnostic scans, mechanical tests, road testing and roadworthy testing. Broader packages only include the checks expressly agreed, subject to compatibility, permission and safe access. Dealer and fleet work has a specific written scope.
Untested systems, missing documents, access restrictions and unavailable road tests are recorded. We do not treat them as satisfactory by default. Specialist checks, internal engine tests, high-voltage battery certification, ADAS calibration and legal-history searches require separate qualified services.
4. Access and safety
You must arrange the owner’s permission, keys, accurate location and suitable access. Provide known material faults, modifications and restrictions. A road test requires lawful permission, appropriate cover, a safe vehicle and route, and inspector agreement. Work can be paused where unsafe or materially outside the agreed scope. We explain the problem and agree revised scope, rescheduling or fair cancellation arrangements.
5. Reporting and use
The report records observations within the agreed scope and delivery arrangements. Clarify uncertainties before relying on it. It does not replace workshop diagnosis or your own purchase checks. Verify the report’s date, vehicle identity, scope and authenticity; later events can change the vehicle’s condition.
You may retain and share an unaltered report for its agreed purpose, subject to third-party personal information and any lawful restrictions explained in the quote. Do not remove limitations, misrepresent a sample as a real report or imply continuing approval of a vehicle.
6. Cancellation and service quality
The cancellation and remedies policy forms part of these terms. Applicable cooling-off rights, fair cancellation rules and statutory service-quality remedies are preserved. Any request to start a service during an applicable cooling-off period must be a separate, informed agreement; it is not bundled into submitting an enquiry.
7. Fair allocation of responsibility
We must perform the agreed service with the care and quality required by applicable law. You remain responsible for the purchase decision and independently checking matters outside the agreed scope. A seller remains responsible for its representations and the sale. We do not assume responsibility for a fault merely because it exists outside the agreed accessible checks, but this does not excuse our own actionable failure.
Nothing excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for gross negligence where the Consumer Protection Act prohibits its exclusion. No blanket waiver of negligence, consumer remedies or statutory rights is required.
8. Personal information and complaints
See the privacy notice for purposes, sharing, retention and your rights. Raise an issue using the published contact details with your reference and supporting facts. We seek a fair opportunity to investigate and remedy. You may use applicable external dispute and consumer channels. South African law applies, subject to mandatory jurisdiction and consumer protections.
Keep a copy of the terms and quotation that apply to your booking. Updates apply prospectively; they do not remove rights attached to an existing agreement.
