Look beyond the warning light
Fault codes need context.
So does condition.
Our Mechanical + Diagnostics package combines accessible mechanical observations with a compatible diagnostic scan. Indicative starting price: R1 395.
Request Mechanical + DiagnosticsWhat the package covers
A scan and a physical view.
Electronic diagnostics and a visual mechanical inspection answer different questions. The agreed visit can cover visible engine-bay fluids, hoses and leaks, accessible tyres and running gear, visible brake components and compatible electronic systems. We record photographs, attention items and access or compatibility limits in a structured report.
A diagnostic trouble code is a system observation. It can be historic, intermittent or caused by more than one issue. Some faults produce no code; recently cleared codes or inaccessible modules may limit what a scan reveals. A clean scan does not mean the vehicle is fault-free.
This service is a condition inspection. Repairs, coding, fault-code clearing, dismantling, compression testing, specialist battery testing and guaranteed diagnosis of the cause of a fault are not included. A road test is only included if specifically quoted; the Pre-Purchase Complete package is the broader starting point for a used-car purchase.
Before requesting a scan
Tell us what you have noticed.
- Make, model, year and engine or powertrain if known.
- Vehicle location and whether it can be accessed safely.
- Warning lights, starting issues, unusual sounds or intermittent behaviour.
- Any recent repairs or previous diagnostic findings the seller supplies.
Do not drive an unsafe vehicle to arrange an inspection. Tell us about the concern so suitable access and any specialist follow-up can be discussed.
Appointments depend on seller permission, access, vehicle compatibility and availability. Your written quotation confirms the scope, travel, tax treatment and full total. An inspection is a condition report at the time of the visit; it is not a warranty, legal-title clearance or statutory roadworthy certificate.
