A useful inspection separates an observation from a diagnosis. We identify the areas checked, explain findings in everyday language and flag anything that needs a workshop, specialist or further verification.
There is no blanket “pass” for a used vehicle. A limitation, inaccessible component or unavailable road test is recorded as untested, rather than assumed satisfactory.
Accessible panels, alignment, paint inconsistencies, visible corrosion, glass and obvious damage. Hidden repairs or damage behind trim may not be visible.
Engine & accessible mechanics
Fluid condition and levels where safe, visible leaks, hoses, belts and accessible components within the selected scope. No dismantling or internal engine assessment.
Tyres, brakes & running gear
Visible tyre condition and wear, accessible suspension and brake observations. No brake-efficiency certification or wheel removal unless separately agreed.
Interior & electrical items
Wear, visible condition and agreed function checks such as lights, windows and controls. Specialist ADAS, high-voltage battery and safety-system certification are excluded.
Diagnostic observations
A compatible scan records available codes and system responses. Codes can be historic or recently cleared. A scan alone cannot prove the cause or absence of a fault.
Documents & road-test observations
Compare documents supplied and record a safe road test if included and authorised. This is not legal title, theft, finance, mileage or full history verification.

Obtain the owner’s permission, provide the exact location, keys and a safe working space. Tell us about warning lights, modifications and known faults.
